After School

Jewelry

Students have the opportunity to learn jewelry making and play a role in helping sustain their school.

Recycled glass, hand painted Krobo beads are purchased in bulk at a local market. Students and staff then string the colorful beads into necklaces, bracelets and earrings each with its own unique design. The jewelry is sold worldwide to help fund the operating expenses for the school.

More information about purchasing jewelry and supporting MOP can be found here.

Football

MOP students interested in football (soccer) play on the Mawuvio's Outreach Programme school team.
The team practices every Saturday morning between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Practice is led by MOP directors, teachers and volunteers.
Matches between MOP players are held approximately once a month during physical education. Friendly matches against surrounding schools are held once a term.

Music and Dance

Students interested in music and/or dance have the opportunity to participate in the music (instrumental & singing) and dance after school programme. Students perform at the 'Owa Day' celebration at the end of every academic term as well as any other special programmes throughout the year. MOP students have been invited to perform at various programs in the Ayikuma and Accra communities. Students learn traditional Ghanaian and contemporary songs and dance.
